Our inaugural workshop was in Gressier, Haiti. With the help of our partner Respire Haiti, an NGO that educates restaveks (child slaves) & other vulnerable children, 18 students held a digital camera for the first time. The power of using photography to capture their surroundings created a sense of individuality, developed self-confidence & explored the creativity missing from their lives.
“My favorite part about learning to take photos is discovering how things that you see with your eyes look different when you use a camera.” —Elie, 14
